Alfie Jackson is a New York City based vocalist/guitarist, mentored in Chicago by G Thomas Allen, Margaret Murphy-Webb, Kurt Elling and the Jazz Institute. Jackson recorded her debut album “The Peacocks” (Jackojazz) with her sextet back in 2023 and that release received rotation on WDCB, WNUR and Neil Tesser’s show in San Diego.
Her set was a smash at last year’s Chicago Jazz Festival and she sold out at SPACE in Evanston, IL for her Album release.
Studying at Manhattan’s prestigious New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, Jackson has taken deep dives into the work of David Bowie, Earth Wind & Fire, Dorothy Ashby, and Alice Coltrane. With The Alice Coltrane Ensemble she has performed at The National Jazz Museum in Harlem with harpist Brandee Younger; she is also a featured soloist with the New School Studio Orchestra, recently performing at the Jazz Gallery and in a US Premier of Carla Bley’s “Escalator Over the Hill” at Tishman Auditorium, which was featured in the New York Times. Alfie also made an appearance at SoHo’s legendary Sounds of Brazil venue in May and worked at The New School with bassist Reggie Workman. Other activities include acting and singing in the multimedia “Future Chronicles” and regular solo appearances at Tribeca’s Walker Hotel, where she accompanies herself with guitar and electronic autoharp.
